1 to 1 chats

Smokefree Bromley’s friendly team can offer you individual support to help you stop smoking.  They are based in local GP practices, dental surgeries, pharmacies and hospitals, so you’re never too far from them.

Group sessions

Group sessions

If you’re a social kind of person, or you think that you’d benefit from the support of others, one of our group sessions would be ideal for you.  They’re hosted by someone trained to help you and you’ll be encouraged to share experiences and support each other.

  • In session one you’ll find out what to expect and get some advice on the different quitting medications we can offer.
  • In session two it’s time to quit!  You’ll get support from everyone in the group and have a chance to talk about your reservations and hurdles
  • Sessions three to six offer ongoing support, advice and ways to help you resist starting again

A drop-in clinic

A drop-in clinic

Drop-in clinics are informal sessions around the borough, timed to fit in with your life.  No appointment needed – just call in and see and advisor.

Help from your GP

Help from your GP

Your GP can offer advice, support, referral to other services and access to patches and other quitting aids.  Next time you’re visiting why not ask how they can help.

Help from a local chemist

Help from a local chemist

There’s a chemist on most high streets and many of them offer advice and support to help you stop smoking.  When you’re out shopping, call in and ask to speak to the pharmacist or smoking advisor.  They’ll guide you through your options and get you on the road to quitting.

Patches and gum

Patches and gum

Your GP can prescribe you patches, gum and other medications to help you quit, on the NHS – so it doesn’t have to cost you a fortune to quit!  Discuss with them whether you think this kind of help would work for you.
